Our Beliefs & Foundations
Christian Zionist PerspectiveChristians Standing With Israel holds to the absolute authority and literal precision of the Word of God. We believe that God's covenants with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob regarding the land of Israel and the destiny of the Jewish people are eternal, irrevocable, and completely independent of the political or spiritual failures of mankind.
Foundational Affirmations
We affirm Genesis 12:3 as an active, unyielding spiritual law for nations today. True biblical faith requires active support, service, and protection for the Jewish people against rising global anti-semitism.
We unconditionally reject the false theology claiming that the Christian Church has replaced Israel in God's prophetic timeline. The Church does not absorb Israel's blessings; rather, it is grafted into the rich root of the olive tree.
We recognize Yeshua Ha'Mashiach as Lord, but we firmly assert that our defense of the Jewish people is completely unconditional. Our support is not a tool for religious leverage or dependency upon conversion.
Fundamental Biblical Beliefs
The Authority of Holy Scripture
The Holy Scriptures are the divinely-inspired, infallible and inerrant word of God. We believe the Holy Scriptures are to be interpreted literally, unless an obviously symbolic representation is indicated, in which case the overall context of the passage should be used for the purpose of discernment. For those who would argue that the Bible "was written by man", and as such "its prophetic elements are subject to a degree of fallibility", please remember there were over 300 messianic prophecies pertaining to the first coming of Jesus Christ the Messiah (Yeshua Ha'Mashiach), alone. These prophecies were fulfilled with absolute, 100% literal precision. What reasons could we possibly offer for believing the prophecies surrounding His Second Coming, His Plan for Israel, and the Church will be any different? For it is written:
God would not give His Word to man for the purpose of confusing him. We believe there are two sources upon which we should rely for discernment, understanding and knowledge: The Holy Spirit and The Holy Scriptures, and their sovereignty is nonnegotiable.
The Nature of God, Jesus, and Salvation
- We believe in the one true God, who exists as the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.
- We believe God became flesh in Jesus Christ the Messiah (Yeshua Ha'Mashiach), who was born of the virgin Mary.
- We believe Jesus (Yeshua), the Son of the Living God, lived a perfect and sinless life.
- We believe in Yeshua's perfect sacrifice on Calvary's cross as the only source of atonement for and redemption of sin.
- We believe in Yeshua's perfect resurrection from the dead, on the third day.
- We believe Yeshua ascended into Heaven, and is presently seated at the Right Hand of the Father.
We believe salvation is a gift from God, and is something that cannot be achieved through the works of man. There will be none of us in Heaven able to say "I am here because I deserve to be here". We believe "there is none righteous, not even one." (Romans 3:10). The only thing of which we, as humans lost in our sin, are deserving is an eternity apart from God as we fail to live up to His perfect standard. However, we believe we shall be presented spotless and blameless through the One and Only Mediator between God and Man--Jesus Christ the Messiah (Yeshua Ha'Mashiach). As such, we believe salvation by grace through faith--in the redeeming blood of Yeshua Ha'Mashiach--ALONE is sufficient for gaining eternal life. (Ephesians 2:8-9)
We believe Yeshua's first coming was as the perfect lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world, but whose second coming will be as Righteous Judge--the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords; He that is Faithful and True.
The Latter Days and Spiritual Redemption of Israel
We believe in the latter days, the Lord of Hosts will turn "ungodliness from Jacob" and, in accordance with the Scriptures, will pour out upon the House of David the spirit of grace and supplication. In so doing, they will look upon and recognize their promised Messiah as "He whom they have pierced". (Zechariah 12:10)
We believe in the latter days, upon recognizing Yeshua Ha'Mashiach as the Holy One of Israel, "all Israel shall be saved". (Romans 11:26)
Prophecy Fulfilled
We believe the creation of the state of Israel on May 14, 1948 was the literal fulfillment of Biblical prophecy spoken by God to Ezekiel. "I will bring them out from the nations and gather them from the countries, and I will bring them into their own land. I will pasture them on the mountains of Israel, in the ravines and in all the settlements in the land." [Ezek 34:13]
The Jewish state came to an end when they were driven from their land by the Romans in 70 A.D. This became known as the "Diaspora" ("scattering" or "dispersion"). After nearly 2,000 years of being scattered across the four winds, the Jewish state was reborn on May 14, 1948. This has been recognized by Biblical scholars as the most significant fulfillment of Biblical prophecy in the modern era.
Prophecy Yet To Be Fulfilled
We believe God has never, nor will He ever reject His people--the House of Israel. Advocates of "Replacement Theology" purport that Israel, in their ungodliness and rejection of Yeshua Ha'Mashiach, has been replaced by the Church. As such, their doctrine asserts that the literal "Israel" and "Jewish people" mentioned in the Holy Scriptures are merely an allegorical representation of Christians, who have essentially "replaced" God's Chosen people and assumed the role of the "new Israel" in God's plan of redemption. In their minds, the true and literal Israel has no place in the prophetic events yet to take place in the "latter days". We believe this to be mindless blasphemy, and have the stamina and fortitude to debate it incessantly. We would also suggest those who wish to enhance their knowledge and understanding on such issues refer to Romans 9, 10 and 11 to see the nature, longevity and substance behind God's redemptive plan for the House of Israel.
Contrary to "Replacement Theologians", we believe Israel's rejection of Yeshua Ha'Mashiach was not God's plan to facilitate their being replaced by the Gentiles, but so that Gentiles could become "grafted" into God's plan of salvation for all. [Romans 11]
We believe God extended salvation to the Gentiles to "provoke Israel to jealousy" [Romans 10:19;11:14], until "the fullness of the Gentiles" is fulfilled. At that time, God will lift the blindness from the House of Israel and they will be saved.
We believe the promises made to Abraham and his descendants are "irrevocable". The Scriptures are in no way unclear on this tenet. In Romans 11:28, Paul tells us:
